How can I block/change the outgoing callerid / caller id
The magicJack network prohibits the caller id number that is transmitted from being changed. There is however a reliable alternative solution. You can use the Skype (http://www.skype.com) network to complete your call. The caller id that is transmitted is a dummy caller id (i.e. like 0123456789) or you can actually change it to your mobile phone number. Here's what you will need to set this up:
First you will need to sign up for a Skype account at http://www.skype.com.
Although Skype to Skype user calls are free, you will also need a minimal amount of prepaid calling credit to place calls to regular phones. With Skype, a little bit of prepaid calling credit typically goes a long way.
Once you have your Skype account setup you will need to download and install the Skype dialer at http://www.skype.com/download .
You must also install the Skyjack Plugin for magicJack at http://www.pcphonesoft.com . Once you have the Skyjack Plugin installed, here are the instructions for placing and receiving Skype calls:
SKYPE CALLING FROM YOUR PHONE
1. Dial * followed by the number you wish to call. For magicJack calls, dial as normal.
2. To call other Skype users, dial the Speed Dial number *1 to *50 you have associated with their Skype name in the built in Speed Dial table.
3. For incoming calls, just answer your phone when it rings.
